So What Is Black Sun Designs?
It is NOT a company or corporation..I am Black Sun Designs.
I set up Black Sun Designs as a place where I can display my work for those interested in possibly using me. But I also use it as where my extended family can view pictures and get updates of our lives in Chico, CA. Also, I run a game server so that information is also contained here.
If you are interested in possibly using me, please keep the following in mind:

I do these types of projects if my time allows it.
I do have a regular full-time job that pays me well, provides my family with all our benefits, vacations, etc…so I will not hinder upon my primary responsibility.
I will tell you up front if my schedule will allow me to work on your project after an initial discussion and your time frames.
Sometimes urgent matters arise at my primary work that may pull me off your project at that moment. But I will pick up the work and get it back on schedule no matter how long it takes.
I also have an assistant I can call upon to help with any database work or administrative tasks. I also have on hand a professional technical writer with previous experience writing manuals for such companies as Sony and Sega.

I can refuse to work for anyone.
I don’t do this for the money. Sure it’s nice to get paid for your work, but I do it because I enjoy it. But if I feel that our personalities do not work well, I will tell you that I can’t work with you. Also if your budget or time frames are unrealistic, I will not work for you. Even if I just don’t want the job, I won’t take it. There are many reasons why I may not take on your project. But the best way to find out if I can help is to talk to me so we can discuss what it is you are trying to accomplish.

I will help you at no cost if you just want advice.
I personally have seen so many good people get screwed over by vendors or companies when they need help. I enjoy helping people along and I am willing to help you out if you have questions or need some guidance at no cost.

All the projects I've done have been completely by referalls.
I do strongly suggest you read my History section to get an understanding of my background and why I do this. Although it may seem after reading the above that I’m not willing to help, I believe I’ve only refused 4 projects in the over 120 I’ve done. Those were mainly due to time frames and budgets. Only one project was delayed a week due to an emergency at my regular job.
But, if you want someone who knows what he’s doing, has 18 years experience, is a Certified Web Master, is versed in multiple programming languages, security, web servers, databases, documentation…it goes on…then you will get more than just a web designer. I do believe my experience and customer service can benefit you if we do end up working together.
I do apologize if I’m a little forward and blunt in my statements above, but that’s how I am. I won’t tip-toe around you; I will tell you how it is…good or bad. I say what I mean to say and I’m no politician. I’m a grunt that does the work and gets things done. Period.
